Prague Castle

Pražský hrad – a millennium of Czech history

Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) dominates the city skyline and is the largest ancient castle in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Founded around 880 by Prince Bořivoj of the Premyslid dynasty, it has been the seat of Czech kings, Holy Roman Emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic.

Inside the castle complex you'll find St. Vitus Cathedral, the Old Royal Palace, St. George's Basilica, Golden Lane, and the picturesque Daliborka Tower. The castle grounds also include several gardens with outstanding views over Prague's Lesser Town.
